Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) is a progressive, multi-symptom illness categorized by exposure to biotoxins. The biotoxins cause the organs to become off balance leading to several unwanted symptoms. There are 5 main patterns that can present deficiency from CIRS in different parts of the body. Depending on the organ affected, these deficiencies present themselves with different signs and symptoms.
Signs and Symptoms
From a Chinese medicine standpoint, the first pattern noticed is the Qi (life force) and blood deficiency. Symptoms can present themselves as fatigue, memory issues, concentration problems, vertigo, weakness, and achiness.
The second is the spleen and stomach Qi deficiency. Symptoms present themselves as appetite swings, diarrhea, abdominal tenderness, fatigue, and joint pain.
The third is a yin deficiency and presents itself as night sweats, blurred vision, headaches, red eyes, thirst, mood swings, and joint pain.
The fourth is kidney essence and lung Qi deficiency, which then presents itself as a low immune system, cough, sinus congestion/nasal drainage, fatigue, and excessive sweating.
The fifth is dampness or phlegm stagnation/obstruction and presents itself as vertigo, unusual pain, tingling, memory issues, muscle cramping, joint pain, headaches, and abdominal pain.
